One year ago I started painting and drawing again. While I have had spurts of doing art as an adult, I never have spent this much continuous time creating. It feels great that painting and drawing have become a part of my daily life! Often when I find myself stressed or anxious, an hour or two of painting or drawing usually eases my worries. I also started my Etsy shop, which was pretty intimidating, but I feel like I’ve got the hang of it now. It’s also a great feeling whenever someone buys something from my shop. It’s a great honor to think that someone is enjoying my artwork in their own home. I’ve also been experimenting mostly with acrylic and watercolors. My favorite paintings so far have been creating abstract art. It seemed intimidating at first but I really loved the pieces that I’ve created. Besides painting on canvas, I’ve also painted wine glasses and wine bottles. Of course I’ve also been drawing and sketching as well. In some ways I feel like maybe I should focus on one medium, but I’m also having too much fun to pick just one. When I think about the past year I’m really happy to see what I’ve created. I’m also excited to think about what the future holds. I’m gaining confidence and am ready to go bigger and bolder! I also want to thank everyone who has supported my endeavors this past year! Sometimes it can be discouraging to put your heart and soul out there and wonder if anyone is watching. Whenever I have doubts, someone has always given me a boost and encouraged me to keep creating!
Thank you for reading and I’m excited for what’s next! Thank you, Sarah
